Who is Teo?
Chicago-born Hip Hop polymath Teo Hendrix (formerly listed as Teo The Artist) is a rapper, producer, musician, writer, director, and the founder of ADHD Entertainment, which translates to “Always Driven Having Determination”. Born Timothy Jones in 1997, he illustrates his life experiences navigating through black trauma , depression, academia, and loss through reflective lyricism, introspective-storytelling wordplay, and genre-bending production.
Raised on Chicago’s south side and south suburbs, Hendrix was immersed in hip hop, jazz, and alternative rock. Attracting comparisons to Kendrick Lamar and Chance The Rapper, the emcee debuted in the Chicago underground music scene in 2016.
Building his foundation on Soundcloud and Chicago alternative radio waves then later credited on critically acclaimed Hip Hop album: Jim Crow The Musical by Add-2, Teo released his streaming debut mixtape Open Mind in 2020. Following the local success of Open Mind, Teo continued his self produced OPEN series with the release of EP Open Heart and concluded the series with the release of OPEN SOUL in 2022, which developed a local cult following among Chicago Hip Hop underground spaces.
Coming off a critically acclaimed collaboration with indie artist Bonzie with Spiritual Violence as well as having music featured on National Geographic: Into The Depths with Tara Robert’s , Teo Hendrix continues to pioneer by using his platform to convey a message of unity and authenticity through musicality.
